Our town of Holland, Michigan has reached the final four of the Strongest Town Contest. Although this bracket may not have been the most important during March Madness, it is incredible important for our neighborhood and town!
For some time towns all around the US have been in fierce competition to claim the title of Strongest Town. According to the Strongest Towns website, they chose the towns in the final four because they “displayed strength and resilience in the form of citizen engagement, accessible neighborhoods, community pride and the handling of local challenges.”
Holland is fighting against three other towns in New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, but has received the largest percentage of votes out of the Elite Eight. If we keep up this winning streak we may come out with the title of Strongest Town in America!
This Monday they will share podcasts from each town and Thursday there will be a “showdown webinar” between the two finalist. Go to the Strongest Town website on Monday and Thursday to vote for Holland and learn more about the contest! We have the strength to win!
